UNICEF Zimbabwe seeks to hire a passionate and dedicated Monitoring Officer (Implementing Partnerships Management) for their Programme Planning and Monitoring team.The Monitoring Officer (Implementing Partnerships Management) reports to the Planning and Monitoring Specialist (P3 Level) for guidance and general supervision

Purpose for the job:

Under the supervision and guidance of the Planning and Monitoring Specialist, the Monitoring Officer (Implementing Partnerships Management) provides professional technical, operational, and administrative support to ensure the effective implementation of UNICEF’s planning, monitoring, and HACT assurance functions. The Monitoring Officer (Implementing Partnerships Management) plays a key role in supporting the development and oversight of implementing partnerships, particularly with civil society organizations (CSOs), through risk-informed management approaches. The role includes conducting field monitoring visits, contributing to data collection and analysis, supporting the implementation and monitoring of the Integrated Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (IMEP), and coordinating and monitoring HACT assurance activities and following up on their recommended actions. Through these functions, the Monitoring Officer (Implementing Partnerships Management) contributes to the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of programme planning, implementation, and reporting, ultimately strengthening results-based management and accountability across the country office

Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • A university degree in one of the following fields is required: Social Sciences, Statistics, Financial Management, Development studies, International Development, Business Administration, Financial Management, Project/Programme Management or another relevant technical field.

Work Experience: 

  • A minimum of one-year professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: programme development/management, financial planning and management, or another related area.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Language Requirements: 

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.

Desirables:

  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
