How can you make a difference?

UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest is recruiting highly dedicated individuals for managing a range of transactional and administrative tasks related to the hiring, selection, and contracting cycle of individual consultants. The role involves active engagement with contracting managers in country offices, not only to process transactions but also to provide guidance on procedures and compliance.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related tasks:

Under the supervision of the Contracts Officer (ICCS), the Contracts Associate, GS6, will administer and process transactions related to the individual consultant contracting cycle. Key responsibilities include reviewing Terms of References (TORs), supporting sourcing and selections, preparing offers, and issuing contracts. All activities are carried out in accordance with Division of People & Culture (DPC) Individual Consultant Procedures and guidance, ensuring timely, accurate delivery aligned with the GSSC`s service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Specific work conditions: The role may require shift work at different times during the day, from Sunday through Friday. Night differential applies where applicable. When working on Sunday, it may be considered a regular workday and Friday as one of the weekend day. Official holidays will be compensated with CTO. Flexible arrangements apply, including the possibility of partial remote work depending on shift schedules.

Education:

  • Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is a minimum requirement, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses in administration, procurement, human resources, finance or related to the work of the organization is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience in administration, procurement, human resources or finance is required, preferably with the UN or other international organization is required.  A completed BA degree from an accredited institution qualifies as 3 years’ experience and will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirement. Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience is required for candidates holding bachelor’s degree in relevant fields. Master’s degree will be considered with an additional two years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in planning, organizing and delivering administrative support services is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive communication and information is desirable.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize is desirable.
  • Work experience in a shared services centre context is an asset.
  • Knowledge of UN/UNICEF'S rules, regulations and procedures is considered an asset.

Skills:

  • Project Management, Collaboration, Problem Solving, Digital Dexterity

Language requirements:

  • Fluency in both spoken and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is considered an asset.

Applicants must be nationals of Hungary or EU/Schengen countries OR in the possession of a valid long-term Hungarian residence and work permits. Temporary and/or sponsored visas are not accepted. UNICEF GSSC does not facilitate MFA accreditation for locally recruited staff, applicants must be holders of acceptable permits already at the time of application. Applicants with non-EU citizenship must attach copies of their valid Hungarian work permits, otherwise their applications will not be considered.
