The objective of this consultancy is to revise Comprehensive Nutrition Specific interventions (CNSI) training package. This task involves synthesizing global guidance and recommendations, consult local expertise and best practices.
How can you make a difference?
Scope of Work:
- Present approach paper or concept note on the how he/she delivers the task, the timeline for the revision of Comprehensive Nutrition Specific Interventions (CNSI) training package in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Conduct a comprehensive desk review of international and national documents and relevant materials, guidelines/clinical protocols, on nutrition specific interventions.
- At national level, facilitate and conduct in-depth technical and programmatic consultations with the wider stakeholders including NuTEC meetings.
- Ensure the CNSI training package is aligned with the recent nutrition technical guidelines.
- Revise the Comprehensive Nutrition Specific Interventions (CNSI) training package.
- Organise and facilitate validation workshop of the Comprehensive Nutrition Specific interventions (CNSI) training package in consultation with Ministry of Health and Population/ Family Welfare Division and UNICEF.
- Organize the meetings of the NuTEC for the consultation and feedback and endorsement.
- Finalize the CNSI training package by incorporating all the comments and feedback.
Tasks:
- Develop detailed approach paper or inception report with timeline and activities.
- Conduct desk review on national and international available policies, strategies, and program documents related to nutrition specific interventions.
- Draft revised CNSI training package.
- Coordinate among partners for national level consultation workshop to review the revised CNSI training package.
- Finalize the revised CNSI training package
First Deliverable
- Submission of inception report (The report contains-Introduction, objectives, scope of work, methodology/approaches to achieve objectives, stakeholders to be involved and timeline)
Second Deliverable
- Submission of desk review report (The report contains- objectives, methodology, inclusion and exclusion criteria, searches, international and national documents and relevant materials, guidelines/clinical protocols, on nutrition specific interventions)
Third Deliverable

Submission of revised CNSI training package (This contains- updated technical contents of nutrition specific interventions including ECD and life cycle-based approach, removing the IMAM contents, contains suitable for 3-4 days training package and module based)
Fourth Deliverable
- Submission of consultation workshop report (This report contains- objectives, methods used, list of participants, major technical feedback/suggestions on the revised CNSI training package and lessons learnt)
Final Deliverable
- Submission of revised CNSI training package (The final package contains- contents that fulfil the requirements of FWD/DoHS/MoHP, updated contents of nutrition specific interventions based on life-cycle approach, details of the schedule for 3-4 days training package)
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
Education:
Master’s in nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Public Health or related field.
Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in nutrition field, specifically working on Nutrition Specific interventions, development of national strategy, implementation/ action plans and development/revision of national guidelines and training manuals. Excellent technical skills and knowledge about nutrition specific programmes/interventions essential.
- Sound knowledge of Nutrition, specifically on nutrition specific programming, policy, strategy and action plans.
- Previous experience to support national Gov in the development of national strategy and action plan, development and revision of national nutrition guidelines and training manuals.
- Fluency in English and Nepali

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
