Guinea is a middle level income country with significant child deprivation. With a Human Development Index of 0,477 it ranks 178th out of 189 nations (2019). Since 1984, UNICEF has collaborated with other UN agencies, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, youth organizations, and other partners to support the government in its efforts to support child development. Guinea's population is estimated to be 13.6 million in 2023 (64% rural and 52% female), with an annual growth rate of 2.9%. People under the age of 18 represent 51.3% of the population. Young people aged between 10 and 18 account for 23%. The potential demographic dividend is overshadowed by the challenges of expanding basic social services, strengthening social protection and improving employability.
The 2024-2028 country program includes interventions across education, protection, health, nutrition, water and sanitation, and social policy programs. In the field, through the zone offices in Labé, Kankan and N’Zérékoré, UNICEF ensures the active implementation of programs across the country including the most remote areas. In its 2024-2028 country programme, UNICEF Guinea will expand the use of advocacy and communication to support policy development and raise awareness of children's rights. It will also institutionalize child and youth participation to ensure that their voices are heard. External partnerships will facilitate the mobilization of resources to achieve systemic impact through collaboration. UNICEF will contribute to the fight against the disenfranchisement of adolescents and young people, including their right to participation.
How can you make a difference?
Under the general supervision of the Partnership Specialist, you will develop, manage, and evaluate non-financial partnerships with the corporate community in support of UNICEF’s mission and objectives in the country. You will also pilot innovative solutions for on-the-ground programme delivery, set the child rights agenda in policy and advocacy development, and enhance the organization’s credibility and brand as a technical expert in the area of child rights and responsible business.
The position is also expected to provide technical input in line with UNICEF’s strategic framework on CSR and manage programmatic alliances with national CSR-related agencies, including business industry champions and the Companies Commission of Guinea
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and DUTIES & TASKS:
- Corporate Relations/Partnership Management – 40%
Identifying and scoping potential corporate partners in line with the Guinea Country Office programme priorities and section needs and developing MOUs and programme concept notes with inputs from the relevant sections. Effective and timely professional management of corporate partnerships and relations with potential, existing and past corporate partners. Build capacity of corporate partners in Children’s Rights and Business Principles including innovative approaches to support child rights among business operations.
- Internal Corporate Engagement Liaison and Documentation – 25%
Tracking internal needs for potential corporate engagement initiatives and innovations. Facilitate documentation and sharing of lessons of Guinea’s best practices in CSR and children’s rights as part of building organizations capacity on policy and programme delivery. Develop best practices documentation that will provide input towards UNICEF country, regional and global CRS engagement.
- Advocacy and Technical Inputs on CSR – 20%
In line with UNICEF’s strategic framework on CSR and promoting implementation of the Child Rights and Business Principles and tools. Advocacy with government of Guinea, industry bodies and national think tanks on CSR/Business Responsibility. Providing technical inputs to and managing strategic alliances with the National CSR Hub and other technical partnerships including capacity building.
- Developing the Guinea CSR Strategy – 10%
This strategy will be the main advocacy tool towards achieving programmatic results, annual workplan, periodic updates and other documentation as needed. Ensure that the elaboration of strategy paper and annual work plan is timely executed and followed up to support country programme priorities, regional and global directives.
- Participate and contribute to other office wide initiatives and events – 5%

Minimum requirements:
- Education:
University degree in one or more of the following relevant disciplines Development, Marketing, Economics, CSR, Communication or Business Administration. Sound and up-to-date knowledge of corporate partnership management, corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
- Work Experience:
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in the relevant field in consulting/programme development with particular focus on CSR, Corporate Partnerships, Fundraising, Marketing, Communication activities.
- Language Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken French is required. English language skills are an asset.
