How can you make a difference?
The consultant is expected to support the Social and Behaviour Change section with the following tasks:
Evidence review and synthesis
• Conduct desk review to identify effective interventions aiming at improving immunization and nutrition outcomes in Europe and Central Asia.
• Gather the insights into summary papers (e.g., concept notes, evidence briefs, etc.) with actionable and easy to understand recommendations for countries.
Intervention design
• Support the design of behaviour insights solutions aiming at increasing vaccine demand and the uptake of healthy diets.
• Draft intervention content and lay-out
• For each intervention, support the development of implementation guides with the intervention description, implementation considerations and monitoring and evaluation indicators
Conceptualization and design of social media campaigns and assets
• Support the conceptualization of social media campaigns
• Design social media assets
• Develop social media packages with social media visuals and copies
Aida chatbot improvements and promotion
• Support the development of new Q&As for Aida immunization chatbot
• Revise existing content making it more simple and easy to understand by the audience
• Support the development of a branding and promotion package with resources to help Aida’s promotion
Newsletter design and release
• Using MailJet, design and disseminate quarterly newsletters
Design of new SBC resources and maintenance of resource packages
• Gather relevant resources, creating relevant resource packages (e.g., research package, BI solution package)
• Lay-out resources and resource packages
• Update the packages regularly once new resources become available
Working modality: home-based consultancy with 150 working days over the period of 9 months.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) in Social and Behaviour Science, Public Relations, Social Communication, Journalism, or related field
- At least 5 years of work experience in social and behaviour change communication
- Proven experience in developing visual assets and using design softwares (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign, etc.
- Fluency in English
Desirable:
• Previous experience on developing SBC resources to address vaccine hesitancy and promote healthy behaviours.
• Previous experience in working in Europe and Central Asia region.
• Proven familiarity and experience working with the UN (ideally with UNICEF).
• Proven experience using Canva to design resources and manage groups
• Proven experience using MailJet or similar platforms to design and disseminate newsletters
The candidates are requested to submit 2-3 samples of SBC interventions designed by them as part of online application.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
