UNICEF Office for Croatia is looking for a Fundraising Assistant – Donor Care and Administration (m/f) to support the Fundraising Department in administrative tasks and donor care area, resulting in an increased support to UNICEF’s programmatic work and our mission to create a better world for children in Croatia and across the world.

Work assignment

In your role as Fundraising Assistant, under the supervision of the Fundraising Officer, you will take part in the following fundraising activities:

  • Contact private individuals primarily by telephone in order to request donations, thank for support, present UNICEF mission and work, propose giving mechanisms and programmes, obtain missing donor information, etc.
  • Execute the existing pledge donor stewardship processes and activities (e.g. welcoming donors; responding to daily inquiries through various channels: telephone, e-mail or post; support organization of Office events, etc.).
  • Enter donor data and donor-related information on a daily basis, and in an accurate and timely manner, into the Office's specialized fundraising/CRM software.
  • Process donations and perform daily reconciliation. General data maintenance and verification.
  • Provide assistance with mailings, lists, campaign tracking, reporting etc.
  • Provide required administrative and all other support to fundraising activities.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • High school diploma, with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in relevant fields (fundraising, customer care, telemarketing, data entry, sales) is required.
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office package (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), as a requirement.
  • General understanding and knowledge of database systems, as a requirement.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as a requirement.
  • Fluency in both Croatian and English, as a requirement.
  • Systematic approach to work, accuracy, and attention to details, as a requirement.
  • Understanding of basic customer/donor relations and fundraising principles.

In addition to these required qualifications, skills and competencies, you will preferably have:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Humanities, Business, Data Sciences or similar is an asset.
  • Experience in working in CRM tool (knowledge of Salesforce).
  • Experience in fundraising and an understanding of basic fundraising principles.
  • Familiarity with UNICEF’s programs and activities in Croatia.

The position is planned as a full-time job, on a fixed-term basis and is office-based with the possibility of flexible working arrangements, subject to supervisor's approval and operational requirements. This contract will be offered for an initial period of 15 months (through 31 December 2026), with the possibility of extension based on successful performance and funds availability.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein.  For this specific service, UNICEF will offer UNOPS Local Individual Contractor Agreement that includes benefits and entitlements such as leave entitlements and medical insurance, excluding pension fund contributions. The conditions of service will be governed by the contract and the General Terms and Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment.
