How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of the Corporate Fundraising Officer NO3, the Corporate Fundraising Officer (New Business) NO2 is responsible for designing the corporate new businesses strategy and guide its implementation, with the objective of increasing the number and quality of corporate partners and maximizing income from the private sector for UNICEF. This will be done by building a strong new business pipeline and converting new leads into signed partnerships that align with the Brazil country office high value strategy.  Additionally, the incumbent will provide leadership and strategic direction for the corporate new business team as well as promote a collaborative and value driven team culture with a focus on results.  

Key Expected Results

1. Support corporate new business development initiatives by contributing to the implementation of the approved corporate fundraising strategy and Private Sector Plan, in collaboration with the Corporate Fund Raising Specialist (NO3) and under the guidance of the Corporate Partnerships Manager (P4).

 

2. Contribute to the development and management of the corporate new business pipeline by:

  • Supporting prospective identification and qualification
  • Drafting sections of proposals and pitch materials
  • Coordinating internal inputs required for submissions.

 

3. Support negotiations and partnership development processes by preparing background materials, coordinating meetings, documenting discussions, and drafting follow-up actions, under the guidance of senior managers.

 

4. Ensure orderly handover of new partnerships to the Key Account Management team by preparing documentation, summarizing partnership agreements, and ensuring relevant data is recorded in corporate systems,

 

5. Participate in selected business community events and meetings, as delegated, to support UNICEF's visibility and relationship building efforts within the corporate segment.

 

6. Facilitate cross functional coordination with Individual Giving, Marketing Services, Communications, Operations, and Programme colleagues to ensure timely inputs and alignment with agreed processes.

 

7. Liaise with PFP HQ and Regional teams on research, due diligence, and compliance requirements, ensuring all corporate engagement activities adhere to PFP policies, procedures, and contractual standards.

 

8. Maintain accurate records and reporting on pipeline status, opportunities, and progress against agreed activity plans, contributing inputs to management reporting as required and guidance in the execution of their responsibilities.

 

9. Provide people centered supervision and day to day leadership to the UNICEF Brazil Corporate New Business Team, promoting a collaborative, inclusive and performance oriented work culture, and supporting team members in delivering agreed partnership objectives in line with established strategies, in dose collaboration with the Corporate Fund Raising Specialist (NO3) and under the guidance of the Corporate Partnerships Manager (P4).

 

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have:

Education: A first-level university degree in Business Administration, Communications, Economics, Fundraising Studies, Marketing or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in corporate fundraising is required.
  • Additional years of experience in corporate fundraising is an asset
  • Proven experience in successfully negotiating and managing large partnerships and delivering on or exceeding ambitious income targets is needed.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and motivating a team is required.
  • Experience of fundraising in leading global organizations is desirable (knowledge of the UN system is an asset).

Language: Fluency in English and Portuguese required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
