For every child, the right to Nutrition

How can you make a difference?

The purpose of this consultancy is to strengthen the availability, quality, harmonization and use of nutrition data for global analysis, reporting and decision-making, while establishing the data foundations needed to progressively leverage automation and artificial intelligence (AI) for nutrition data management, analysis and visualization.

UNICEF is strengthening its capacity to systematically consolidate, manage and analyse nutrition data to generate timely and robust evidence for programme decision-making, advocacy, resource mobilization and global reporting. Currently, however, relevant nutrition information remains fragmented across multiple sources, formats and systems, limiting the ability to conduct systematic analyses across countries and contexts.
To address this gap, the consultancy will support the development and strengthening of two complementary, consolidated and harmonized nutrition databases.
• The first will focus on nutrition assessments and situation data, systematically compiling results from SMART surveys, IPC Acute Malnutrition (IPC AMN) analyses and other relevant nutrition assessments. It will provide a structured repository of historical and current information on the nutrition situation, with appropriate geographic and temporal disaggregation to facilitate country, subnational and trend analyses.
• The second will focus on wasting programming data, building on existing NutriDash databases and integrating information from other relevant sources. It will consolidate historical data on SAM and MAM burden estimates, programme targets—including those from HACs and HNRPs—and key programme monitoring indicators, such as admissions, programme performance, routine screening and service coverage. Together, these data will enable more systematic analysis of needs, targets, reach, coverage and programme performance over time and across countries and contexts.

Scope of Work
  • Development of a Comprehensive Wasting Programming Database
  • Development of a Nutrition Assessments Database
  • Leadership and Technical Contribution to the GRFC – Nutrition Component
  • Contribution to the CNR 2027 – Wasting Programming
