Visual Merchandiser

About the assignment:

• To work together with other Visual Merchandisers to conceptualize and display in-store settings, decorations and signage
• To execute and follow up the planned action for in-store projects and activities with promotional themes
• Utilize visual merchandising competence to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation solutions in the store
• Actively contribute to the department action plan with initiatives that will grow the business and support long-term profitability and execute the agreed plans in close co-operation with other functions
• Utilize the knowledge of people's needs and dreams in the local market to plan and implement relevant, inspiring, affordable and commercial range presentation solutions that exceed our visitor's expectations
• Secure high quality, simplicity, efficiency and cost consciousness in planning and implementing all range presentation solutions by applying national directions and using global tools, proven solutions and best practices
• Actively contribute to gathering of insights about store layout and range presentation and translate this knowledge into relevant and inspiring store solutions that will support a convenient shopping experience and reflect the local needs of life at home
• Stay up to date with knowledge about home furnishing, retailing and trends in order to generate creative directions that inspire and surprise visitors with a strong visual impression.
• To perform any other duties as assigned by the superior when required

About you:            

• Working Hour: Mon-Fri: 9:00am-5:45pm; Alternate Sat: 9:00am-1:00pm
• Formal training in Design/ Visual Merchandising/ Interior Design/ Graphic Design or other related discipline.
• 1 - 2 years' relevant working experience in high volume retail business or visual display field
• Active, outgoing, willing to learn, open-minded, aesthetic, commercialism and able to work independently
• Possess good verbal and visual presentation skills
• Able to produce layout plan, sketch and free hand perspective drawings
• Proficient in AutoCad is a MUST
• Good knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, SketchUp, Photo editing, Word and Excel
