The Mathematics Implementation and Content Specialist will serve a dual role within the Center’s Mathematics Team. In the implementation capacity, the Specialist will coordinate and support a team of instructors facilitating the Lastinger Center’s Math Matrix—an online professional learning system for mathematics educators. Responsibilities include facilitating courses, mentoring instructors, monitoring participant engagement, and representing the Center at events and training across the state. In this role, the Specialist will work alongside the Mathematics Team to perform these duties. The specialist will collaborate with subject matter experts to co-develop high-quality, innovative mathematics education products and services, with a particular focus on mathematics professional development content and experiences within the Lastinger Center’s online learning platform. This includes designing engaging and effective instructional materials, developing learning activities, selecting and curating appropriate materials, and incorporating adult learning strategies that align with current evidence-based research and educational standards. The specialist will also oversee content production and quality assurance, contribute to project coordination, and help identify the evolving needs of mathematics educators to inform future product development.

Primary responsibilities include helping to manage the funds and budgets overseen by the PI and coordinating activities between the different institutions involved. The coordinator will also be responsible for performing administrative and fiscal tasks pertaining to assignment of research assistants, graduate and post-doctoral students; travel arrangements and reimbursements; scheduling meetings; and project outreach materials, including maintenance of the website, newsletters, communiques and policy briefs, and other materials that demonstrate the center’s impact, as well as coordinating research reports and deliverables for annual and period reports, site visits, assisting with administration of IRB protocols for research projects, and other reporting functions essential to the evaluation of the center. The coordinator will also play a major role in coordination of the broadening participation efforts, including scheduling and management of workshops and other events, incorporating researchers and marginalized population communities, and summer schools/bootcamps. The coordinator will work closely with the lead PI of the center and will perform duties as assigned by the PI. The level of activities and associated program management tasks require analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and conceptual abilities to successfully meet the responsibilities of this position.
