This position is in the Cytometry Core of the Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research (ICBR) at the University of Florida. The ICBR Cytometry Core Research Facility Laboratory Technician III [CRFT III] will provide expertise and guidance to UF researchers on the effective use of flow cytometry, small-particle analyzers, and confocal/optical microscopy. Duties include operation of several flow cytometry analyzers (BD Fortessa, BD Symphony A3, Cytoflex LX, BD Accuri C6, Canto, and Sony ID7000), cell sorters (Sony SH800, Symphony S6, and Fusion), and nanoparticle analyzers. Key responsibilities include daily quality control, user instrument training, coordinating sample delivery and processing, providing consultation to core facility users, developing and maintaining/updating operational policies, procedures, and SOPs, and assisting with billing using the timer and CrossLab system. The individual must be able to function with minimal supervision in a team environment, be reliable and punctual, and have attention to detail. Commitment to providing excellent customer service is a must. Proficiency in MS Office and excellent oral and written communication skills required.
