The Administrative Specialist I provides essential administrative support for the William & Grace Dial Center for Speech and Communication Studies. The position supports daily office operations, assists with administrative processes that support the Center’s academic and programmatic goals, and helps maintain efficient workflows across the unit. As the Agent, you will build and oversee a new Master Gardener Volunteer program including the daily operation of all Master Gardener Volunteer events, projects, and committees. You will conduct or coordinate on-going training for existing Master Gardener Volunteers plus an annual introductory training session for new recruits. You will spend about 50% of your time on residential horticulture programming including Mosquito control and Florida Friendly Landscaping programs (FFL) and about 45% of time leading the Hardee County Master Gardener (MGV) Program.

Operates and maintains farm vehicles and equipment—including technology-enabled machinery—while performing routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. Supports research, extension, and teaching activities by assisting with field plot operations, collaborating with faculty, maintaining detailed documentation, and contributing to operational and compliance reports.
