| The Conservation Scientist/Forester II is an intermediate-level professional who manages and improves the overall land quality of the Hickory Sink forest. This position supports and advances research, education, outreach and regulatory compliance by managing 2,600-acres of forest, including planning and implementation of prescribed burning regime, control of invasive species, and reforestation efforts. The incumbent should expect to work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. This position will serve as a staff member of the School of Forest, Fisheries, and Geomatic Sciences (SFFGS), and is expected to both work in a team environment and to be capable of carrying out instructions and projects with minimal supervision. |
