Within their research appointment, the faculty member will develop an internationally recognized, externally funded program using contemporary methods to explore and improve genetic resistance of plant species to pathogens. The overarching goal is to understand plant resistance and susceptibility and to develop genetically improved plants for crop production, ecosystem restoration or other applications. Within the teaching appointment, the faculty member will develop and teach a course aligned with plant disease resistance at the graduate level and participate in teaching other formal courses at the graduate/undergraduate level.

We are seeking a candidate with clinical experience in all aspects of care for urinary stone disease, including ureteroscopy, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, laparoscopic and robotic surgery as it relates to urinary stone disease and upper urinary tract obstruction, as well as metabolic evaluation and preventive care for patients with urinary lithiasis. The candidate would join a department recognized for its clinical and research excellence in stone disease including multidisciplinary programs with nephrology, endocrinology and basic scientists. The candidate would also receive excellent mentorship under the tutelage of internationally recognized endourologists and minimally invasive surgeons (Vincent G. Bird, MD, Benjamin K. Canales, MD, Li-Ming Su, MD). Our stone research program has a rich history of investigative exploration in stone disease. Our current studies include basic science efforts in oxalate metabolism and cell culture, translational efforts in calcium metabolism and microbiome using animal models, molecular characterization of urinary stone formers, and clinical efforts with novel biomedical devices, a large metabolic and operative outcomes database, and prospective genetic trials.

We are seeking a professional at any point in their professional development with a strong interest in working with domestic and international students in a university counseling center. The clinical associate/assistant professor and Couples & Relationship Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to provide direct clinical services (e.g., group, individual and couples counseling) to University of Florida students; as well as coordinate the couples counseling program at the CWC, including clinical services and training program elements. Potential colleagues should have experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns and levels of severity. Clinical faculty members also provide consultation to UF faculty and staff and are engaged in providing professional training and teaching to graduate students, doctoral interns, and post-doctoral fellows. All faculty take part in outreach, intervention and prevention efforts. Faculty also are expected to participate in the center’s model of shared governance through the coordination of specific initiatives, membership or chairing of committees or task forces.
