The Entry-Level Electrician herein described works in Facilities Services at the
University of Florida (UF). The incumbent assists senior workers with installing, repairing, and
preventatively maintaining electrical components, electrical motors, generators, and related electrical
and mechanical equipment containing up to 600V; He/she assists with maintaining lighting fixtures,
altering and repairing existing wiring, power appliances, light machinery, and electrical circuits,
installing wiring, fixtures, and appliances in new construction.
The incumbent supports other trades and contractors, cleans and maintains the shop and all related
equipment, operates a UF vehicle, and performs other duties (as assigned). May participate in the
Facilities Services FaST Path Program. He/she begins the National Center for Construction Education
and Research (NCCER) Core. May begin Mike Holt or NCCER Electrician Level 1 curriculum. |

The successful candidate will develop an extramurally funded, nationally-recognized research and extension program emphasizing breeding of specialty and ornamental crops. The program will use both traditional and advanced methods for improving quality traits, abiotic and biotic stress (disease/insect) resistance and improving aesthetic quality of crops through consumer-friendly precision breeding and/or other similar genetic techniques. The program will focus on developing specialty crops that can be grown in greenhouse or other types of protected culture. |
