Job Description:

The Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida is soliciting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor) in Industrial and Systems Engineering.

UF ISE offers B.S., M.E., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. We currently have approximately 550 undergraduate students and about 200 graduate students. The Department hosts research in various application areas including advanced manufacturing, energy systems, healthcare systems, human-in-the-loop systems, supply chain systems and transportation systems. We also currently host methodological research in data analytics, human systems engineering, manufacturing, optimization, simulation, and stochastic analysis. There are also outstanding opportunities for interdisciplinary work across the UF campus. More information about the department can be found at http://www.ise.ufl.edu.

This position supports the continued growth of the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering. It will complement other current full-time instructional faculty appointments within the Department and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. There are currently one Full, three Associate and three Assistant Instructional Professors in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department. General duties and responsibilities include teaching, revising, and developing the Industrial and Systems Engineering curriculum, collecting data on student performance, and managing course contents for accreditation purposes. This position serves to engage students outside of the classroom in undergraduate research, college and university committees, and student organizations. Tentative instructional faculty portfolio consists of 75% teaching, and 25% department/professional service and research.

Teaching responsibilities will include a range of courses, depending on departmental priorities and candidate expertise. The ideal candidate should demonstrate versatility in teaching across multiple areas of the curriculum, particularly in Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Management, Production and Logistics, and Systems Engineering. In addition to excellence in teaching, candidates at the Associate and Full levels are expected to have demonstrated leadership in program/course development and student mentorship including capstone design and undergraduate research. Candidates are expected to be at the cutting edge of teaching pedagogy and conduct research in areas related to Engineering Education that complement and improve their teaching. Candidates are also welcome to continue or pursue additional research in Industrial and Systems Engineering related topics.

Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
