Engineering Technician I

• Assist with design and layout of components, equipment and systems related to water resources research, extension and teaching.
• Construct, assemble and repair of soil and water equipment and systems.
• Conduct field work locally and remotely for project installations, repair and data collections.
• Organize and maintain assigned lab areas and field locations.
• Locate and purchase materials, components and equipment related to water resources research and teaching.
• Assist with other technical staff duties for general ABE department.
• Train new students to use equipment and perform necessary tasks.
• Oversee safety requirements in the lab and the field.
• Provide a collegial environment and teamwork atmosphere.

Commensurate with Education and Experience.

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Knowledge of irrigation and drainage systems. Must maintain a valid Florida Driver's License for operating state vehicles.
