Job Description:

Business Career Services, within the Warrington College of Business, is seeking a creative and highly motivated Graphic Design/Marketing Student Assistant to support the Event Manager and BCS team.  This position offers hands-on experience in branding, design, content creation, and digital marketing.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, creativity, have graphic design experience, along with the ability to collaborate with members of the Business Career services team and implement initiatives. 

The Student Assistant will support the BCS team in creating marketing materials that target Employers and Warrington College of Business students. Graphic design projects may include print materials (i.e. brochures, posters, and flyers) & online content (i.e. web banners, email marketing, and logos).

The Student Assistant will aid the BCS Events team in providing valuable pre-event and event-day assistance for numerous student and employer recruiting events throughout the fall and spring recruiting seasons. 

This position has a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week and maximum of up to 20 hours per week and will be located in Hough Hall, suite 350.  Additional hours may be available during busier times. A minimum commitment of one (1) academic year is required, with preference given to those who can do a two (2) academic year commitment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop marketing and communication materials specific to Business Career Services for the Warrington College of Business marketing platforms including social media advertising, print collateral, print media, and other forms of digital marketing
  • Collaborate, conceptualize, create, and design presentations, brochures, flyers, logos, banners and other types of media-based materials for internal and external use
  • Produce new and innovative professional level quality graphics
  • Collaborate with the existing UF-Warrington Marketing to learn and implement the College’s identity and branding style
  • Amend designs after feedback and ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
  • Assist the BCS Career Events Manager with the planning and execution of events such as career fairs, company recruiting events, and other large-scale career and professional development events.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with BCS vendors
  • Track BCS career event data and provide event specific reports
  • Assist in preparation and set up for events
  • Occasional evening events may occur where assistance is needed
Expected Salary:

$15.00 hourly

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a current University of Florida Student.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Animate).
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated proficiency and excellence in writing and editing.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to follow directives.
  • This position is open to al student who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.  registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven graphic designing experience.
  • Capability multi-task and proven ability to work on a variety of projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design.
  • Ability to independently, in work successfully in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
