Job Description:

Complete various accounting tasks such as reviewing documents, reconciling accounts and monitoring fund balances. Work to ensure expenditure compliance and prepare reports regarding fund balances to help ensure spending is aligned with College and University policies. Provide support in grant and contract management. As directed by College leadership and supervisor, investigate and analyze billing errors, provide reports, and compile data. Make recommendations for improvements to internal College systems to ensure they are seamlessly integrated with University systems and processes. Collaborate with College leadership and supervisor to plan, coordinate, and implement the annual budget and to develop recommendations for policies, procedures, or control systems.

Process financial transactions for the college for all funding sources. Process purchasing requests for all departments of the college. Serve as the requestor for purchase requisitions for the College as processed through the University Marketplace. This includes the verification of compliance with UF purchasing directives and procedures, budget verification, and review and input of funding information. Perform reconciliations to general ledgers with all sources of funds. Investigate and resolve discrepancies. Process journal entries and budget transfers in UF’s accounting system. Create, submit, and process UF financial forms as may be needed for all accounting functions and for reporting to the University, to the ABA, and to regional accreditors.

Perform other duties as assigned in pursuit of the strategic financial goals of the college.

 

Expected Salary:

$22.03 - $35.92 / hour

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of financial and accounting systems
Excellent attention to accuracy and detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent skills with Excel, including pivot tables.
Excellent problem-solving skills, and proactive approach to identifying problems, errors, and opportunities for improvement.
Strong work ethic and strong adherence to confidentiality.
Familiarity with UF Financial systems such as UF GO, PeopleSoft, Work Day, and Enterprise Analytics.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
