Job Description:
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time hospitalist faculty position. Duties and responsibilities include providing high-quality patient care and participating in the education of medical students and residents in an academic medical center. The hospitalist will be expected to diagnose, treat, and manage disease, injuries, and disorders of the eye and its associated structures, as well as identify systemic conditions affecting ocular health. The hospitalist will primarily perform ophthalmic consultations in the inpatient and emergency department settings. Compensation, academic rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The College of Medicine offers a competitive salary and an incentive program. Relocation assistance may be available.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate based on rank and experience with an excellent benefits package. 

Minimum Requirements:

An MD degree or equivalent and completion of postgraduate ophthalmology training. A valid Florida medical license or medical faculty certificate and UF Health practice privileges must be obtained and/or maintained.

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to clinical expertise, qualifications should include a strong commitment to teaching, resident training, and research as well as participation in academic activities.
