Classification Minimum Requirements:

Job Description:

Administrate and manage operations for UF TAPS evening/nighttime transit programs including staffing and scheduling, routing and service, hiring and training, policy/procedure development and implementation, customer service, dispatching and driving as needed, etc.

Track operational data, ridership and fleet statistics and prepare weekly/monthly/yearly reports explaining and outlining data for administrative use. Continually analyze and identify fleet and ridership trends and statistics to assist TAPS administration in determining best operational practices and potential efficiency improvements. Work with TAPS administration in planning sessions to set short and long-term goals for transit programs and evaluate performance of current goals.

Maintain and implement training programs and policies and ensure all team members are continually up to date on required training, procedures and documentation. Assist in development and implementation of new training programs, policies and documentation as requested by TAPS administration.

Manage TAPS vehicle fleet and equipment, including scheduled maintenance, security, cleaning, hardware/software updates and replacements, etc.

Handle customer service response and support for TAPS transit programs including customer contact in person, via email or by phone, software/app assistance and troubleshooting, etc.

Manage transportation for special events, including staffing, scheduling, operations, customer service, etc.

Assist with marketing, promotion, logistical support for third-party and non-staffed alternative transportation programs such as Gator Lift, Zipcar, Lyft and UF Safe Rides, RTS, electric vehicles and golf carts, etc.

Assist with additional miscellaneous duties related to TAPS transportation programs as needed, including occasional driving and dispatching duties.

A criminal background will be conducted.

Normal work hours are Monday-Friday from 3:30pm - 12:30am.

• Occasional after-hours phone/email contact with employees and administration may be required to ensure full operational coverage for night and weekend programs.

• Some flexibility may be required to work scheduled overtime and/or through temporary schedule modifications as needed for transportation services and special events requiring early or late appointments, weekend, holiday, and overnight travel or University events.

Expected Salary:

Expected starting rate is $25.00 hourly based on experience.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant areas such as Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Business Management, etc.
• Management experience in commercial/university/municipal/state passenger transportation and fleet management.
• Commercial Driver’s License class A, B or C with passenger endorsement.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to develop concepts and programs fully and see them to successful completion.
• Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with employees and members of a widely diverse campus community.
• Analytical, management and communication skills required for the development and implementation of policies and programs.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high pressure, results-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc) and strong computer skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and successfully plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balance priorities, and work effectively in rapidly changing situations to meet deadlines and ensure customer-focused service.
• Additional licenses and certifications related to transportation management, planning, safety or other related areas.
