Classification Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Description:
  • Responsible for coordinating text, selecting imagery, and managing the design and print production of advertising materials, publications, signage, and exhibition guides and graphics, as needed.
  • Create and maintain content for the Harn’s website, social media platforms, email announcements, and other digital communication channels to foster engagement and interaction.
  • Collect and report analytics from the website, social media, and email announcements for staff review.
  • Maintain accurate records, including advertising and publicity lists for grant reporting and exhibition evaluations, outreach contact lists, databases of free listings, and departmental archive files.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Public Relations, and Finance and Operations offices to prepare and submit paperwork related to purchasing, advertising, publication projects, and grant reimbursements. Assist in monitoring and maintaining the departmental budget.
  • Support the Marketing and Public Relations Director in coordinating publicity, promotions, advertising placements, and marketing initiatives, including collaborations with campus and community partners.
  • Distribute promotional materials on campus and throughout Gainesville.
  • Assist with outreach efforts by participating in booths and activities at festivals and programs held outside the museum.
Expected Salary:

$46,000

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven excellence in graphic design and professional writing, with a strong portfolio demonstrating both.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator); experienced with email marketing platforms and social media management tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and clarity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; adept at identifying and resolving problems efficiently.
  • Capable of building and sustaining effective working relationships with museum staff, university departments, and external partners.
  • Availability to work selected evenings and weekends when public relations and marketing activities are required, including the 2nd Thursday evening of each month for Museum Nights.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in WordPress for updating and creating content on the Harn Museum's website.
