Job Description:

The University of Florida is seeking a dedicated individual to join our UF Online OneStop team as an Admissions Officer I. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely review of applications and credentials, determining residency classification for tuition purposes, and maintaining effective communication with applicants and academic departments.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Application Review

  • Review and process UF Online admissions applications based on applicant type, entry level, and program requirements.
  • Conduct both criteria-based and holistic evaluations of academic records, including GPA calculation and prerequisite coursework analysis.
  • Make admissions decisions for designated programs; refer select cases to academic colleges as needed.
  • Apply professional judgment to identify academic concerns and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Meet or exceed established weekly admissions review metrics while working independently to support OneStop goals.

Credential Evaluation

  • Ensure application files are complete by evaluating submitted documentation, including transcripts, test scores, and residency materials.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Florida Residency for Tuition Purposes and immigration documentation.
  • Advise applicants and departments via email about missing or required credentials.
  • Develop familiarity with admissions requirements for all applicant types and utilize business processes for credential review.
  • Sort, screen, manage, and maintain applicant files for accurate progression through the admissions process.

Other Duties

  • Support OneStop staff with admissions-related inquiries received via phone or email.
  • Participate in cross-functional events, Admissions committees, Q&A sessions, and the creation of staff training materials.
  • Manage application data in Slate and Campus Solutions; reconcile records between systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL. The selected candidate will work on site and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies. 

Expected Salary:

$43,888 annually

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to establish work priorities, coordinate the timely completion of work assignments, strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with customer service and public relations
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work and training assignments
  • Experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
