Job Description:

The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position at the Clinical Assistant Professor level. This is an exciting opportunity to join the teaching faculty at a top ranked college with an extensive educational, research, and service portfolio. The anticipated initial assignment is 75% teaching in our Communication Sciences & Disorders undergraduate programs. In addition, as part of the remaining 25% effort, the candidates will contribute to service through student mentorship, advising and committee service and have the opportunity to participate in research, depending upon interest. This position has an anticipated start date prior to Fall semester 2025.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of successful teaching and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and student mentoring.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience. The department is specifically interested in recruiting a faculty member who can extend our existing expertise in undergraduate courses and online teaching related to communication disorders.

UF SLHSThe Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing  Sciences is one of eight departments in the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and is well integrated within the UF Health Science Center, thereby offering faculty a wealth of opportunities for scholarly collaborations.  The department offers three degrees: Doctor of Audiology (AuD), Master of Art’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders (the degree program for speech-language pathology), and Bachelor of Health Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  The College of PHHP also offers a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences.  Faculty members have access to a college level instructional design team that provides them with expert support in course development and delivery.

Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.

The ideal candidate will have evidence of successful teaching and demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence and student mentoring. Preference will be given to candidates with prior online (synchronous and asynchronous) teaching experience and use of artificial intelligence.
