Job Description:

The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships SFA is actively seeking a detail-oriented Student Financial Aid Coordinator III to support the College of Pharmacy (COP) section of the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. In this role, you will administer financial aid to students within the college. The position also works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, the COP Awards and Scholarship Committee, the Financial Office, and Advancement Team and is responsible for providing information on a monthly basis to the Dean's Office on the status of scholarship and loan funds available to award.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Student Financial Aid Support

  • Advise students on all aspects of financial aid eligibility via in-person meetings, phone, and email.
  • Conduct presentations and orientations on financial aid, financial literacy, and debt management.
  • Review weekly loan processing reports and assist with federal loan testing for accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain annual cost of attendance budgets for COP programs.
  • Meet with staff to conduct semesterly Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) reviews.

Scholarship & Loan Management

  • Manage the College’s annual scholarship cycle: solicit applications, verify eligibility, process paperwork, and track records.
  • Advise students on scholarship and private loan opportunities.
  • Reconcile monthly ledgers for awarded loans and scholarships, analyzing fund usage and availability.
  • Provide regular fund status updates to the Dean’s Office.
  • Evaluate and process private loan requests for approved programs.
  • Respond to benefactor and audit inquiries related to scholarships and funding.

Collaboration & Communications

  • Serve as the liaison among the Academic and Student Affairs Office, Financial Office, and Advancement Team.
  • Collaborate with the Dean’s Office, scholarship committees, and student services teams to align financial support strategies.
  • Publicize scholarship and loan opportunities via email, web, and presentations.
  • Provide financial need data to support institutional scholarship decisions.
  • Participate in financial aid committees and scholarship award decisions.

Events, Programming & Compliance

  • Help coordinate the annual Senior Awards Ceremony.
  • Collaborate with career services and faculty to develop financial and career education programming.
  • Act as liaison with the University Bursar and University Registrar.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and university privacy policies when sharing student financial data.
  • Complete financial aid surveys and reports as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL. The selected candidate will work on site and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary:

$57,000 annually

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience.

Preferred:
  • Student financial aid and loan counseling experience
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing financial aid programs
