University of Florida College of Nursing (UFCON) is seeking a visionary and dynamic Director of Immersive Education to lead as a strategic and operational leader responsible for advancing the University of Florida College of Nursing’s (UF CON) commitment to community and global health through interdisciplinary collaboration, academic-practice partnerships, and high-impact experiential learning. This role leads the integration and execution of Community Engagement, Global Engagement, FOCUS Fridays, and Experiential Learning—with a strong emphasis on interprofessional education and curriculum design that prepares students for practice in complex, collaborative environments.
The Director works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and community partners to expand UF CON’s impact across local, regional, and global settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership for immersive education initiatives aligned with UF CON’s strategic plan.
- Advance the integration of immersive education into nursing education, research, and practice.
- Promote equity, global citizenship, and interprofessional collaboration across all programming.
Program Oversight & Coordination
Lead and evaluate the following initiatives:
- Community Engagement: Facilitate local partnerships and student participation in community-based service-learning.
- Global Engagement: Oversee international collaborations, global immersions, and faculty-led global health opportunities.
- FOCUS Fridays: Plan and deliver enrichment sessions that promote leadership, equity, innovation, and advocacy.
- Experiential Learning: Integrate interprofessional and practice-based learning opportunities across degree levels.
Curriculum Design Support
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to embed immersive principles and interprofessional learning into curricula.
- Support the design and evaluation of course content, experiential modules, and co-curricular learning aligned with accreditation standards and workforce needs.
- Serve as a resource for embedding measurable interprofessional and global competencies into academic programs.
Collaboration & Partnership Development
- Establish and sustain partnerships with academic, clinical, community, and international organizations.
- Collaborate with UF Health and other health professions colleges to develop shared interprofessional learning platforms and initiatives.
Evaluation & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report data on program participation, student outcomes, and community impact.
- Contribute to grant writing, accreditation reporting, and strategic planning efforts.
Student & Faculty Engagement
- Mentor students participating in community, global, and interprofessional programs.
- Support faculty development in experiential teaching, community-engaged scholarship, and interprofessional collaboration.

Preferred: |
- Doctoral degree in nursing, leadership, public health, global health, or a related field.
- Experience leading community, global, and experiential learning initiatives.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing education, academic-practice partnerships, or experiential learning.
- Active RN license or eligibility for licensure in Florida.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, interprofessional education, or One Health.
- Proven track record in program implementation, partnership development, and academic service leadership.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and program evaluation skills.
