The Department of Student Engagement, within the Division of Student Life, includes the Offices of Campus Engagement, Community & Belonging, Sorority & Fraternity Life, Student Legal Services, and Administrative Services. Student Engagement serves as a central hub for student leaders, student organizations, campus events, and a variety of programs and spaces that help students find and build community. This position reports to the Program Director for Experiential Learning and contributes to a broad range of programs, events, and initiatives. The role focuses on advancing experiential learning, professional development, and community-building efforts that enhance the overall student experience.
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support divisional priorities and programs, such as the Golden Gator Council, Gator NASPA Student Life Fellows, and other initiatives, as needed. • Support department-wide student assistant training, recognition, and professional development by creating and implementing intentional opportunities for learning and skill development; responsibilities may include designing and facilitating workshops, planning and executing recognition events, and developing resources for Student Engagement’s 80+ student assistants. • Assist with the development and facilitation of programs and events focused on skill development and career exploration, including workshop series for student organization leaders, resource creation for student leaders and organization advisors, and broader programming that promotes competency development, community engagement, and co-curricular learning. • Collaborate with professional staff to ensure contracts and other financial paperwork related to events are completed accurately and in a timely manner. • Provide staffing support for large-scale programs within the Student Engagement portfolio (e.g., Great Gator Welcome, Homecoming events, Gator Growl). • Develop, conduct, and analyze research and assessments for Student Engagement programs and services, including needs assessments, outcomes evaluations, and student satisfaction surveys. • Assist with marketing and promotional strategies to educate students and encourage co-curricular involvement. • Participate in regular evaluations to reflect on and assess personal and professional development. • Collaborate with the Program Director for Experiential Learning on initiatives related to experiential learning, including data collection, reporting, and special projects. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Remuneration:
• Annual Rate of $20,600; UF minimum tuition waiver of 9.0 credit hours each Fall and Spring semesters (fees not included) • Potential Access to Graduate Health Benefits • 9-Month Contract from August 16, 2025-May 15, 2026
• This position requires 20 hours per week throughout the contract period, which may include occasional evening and weekend hours, as well as additional time during peak periods such as the beginning and end of each semester.
