Job Description:

The Department of History at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts
and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-accruing
position in History and departmental United States survey course coordinator and
UF Online coordinator, at the rank of Lecturer, working title Assistant Instructional
Professor, beginning January 1, 2026.


The successful candidate will contribute to the Department of History’s
intellectual growth and innovative teaching methods, to the development and
management of the US history survey courses, and to the development and
growth of undergraduate online learning opportunities. The area of teaching
specialization is open.


Teaching responsibilities will include courses in History (open field), including the
two-part survey of US History, as well as upper-division courses in the
candidate’s geographic or thematic specialization. This position will typically be
assigned five courses per year (3-2 or 2-3) along with the Coordinator
responsibilities.


US Survey Coordinator responsibilities will include: coordinating AMH 2010 and
AMH 2020 offerings, onboarding new instructors, oversee functionality of Canvas
shells, and ensuring that syllabuses are in compliance with state and university
requirements.


UF Online Coordinator responsibilities will include: designing and producing new
online courses; coordinating with the college and university to determine course
demand; serve as liaison for online History majors transitioning to the residential
program, through the PaCE online program.


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to benefit from the support,

Advising Center, UF Online, and the Center for Instructional Technology and
Training.

Expected Salary:

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience,
