Job Description: |
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a Research Coordinator II. This position plays a key role in supporting a variety of research activities, including the setup and organization of lab equipment, maintenance of research-related materials, coordination of research protocols, and administration of standardized interviews and assessments. The role also supports recruitment of research participants, data management, and oversight of undergraduate student research assistants.
The Research Coordinator II will contribute to regulatory compliance, IRB coordination, and human subjects management, including subject payments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage multiple study components simultaneously, collaborate with students and postdoctoral trainees, and maintain accurate data records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to support impactful research within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and execute research protocols, including neuroimaging and psychological assessments, while ensuring compliance with IRB and regulatory standards.
- Recruit and screen human subjects from both the community and clinical settings, including scheduling and conducting research visits.
- Manage research databases and perform accurate data entry and maintenance, including use of RedCap and secure recordkeeping.
- Provide oversight and training to undergraduate research assistants and support graduate and post-doctoral research activities.
- Maintain lab supplies and equipment inventory and process human subject payments in accordance with fiscal procedures.

Expected Salary: |
$50,000 – $55,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven track record of managing competing priorities in a research environment.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information, including personal, medical, and financial data.
- Skilled in problem-solving and decision-making under minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with study participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Adept at troubleshooting and maintaining research-related technology and software tools.
- Capable of drafting clear documentation, training guides, and standard operating procedures to support study compliance and operational continuity.
- Experience with neuroimaging and EKG data processing
- Experience working with IRB protocols and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with RedCap or other research data platforms
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Experience working with human subjects in research settings
