Are you passionate about driving compliance, streamlining operations, and supporting academic excellence? The UF College of Nursing is seeking a dynamic Manager of Compliance and Operational Excellence to lead key initiatives in clinical compliance, regulatory affairs, risk management, and contract oversight. Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives, this role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant environment for students, faculty, and staff.

You’ll collaborate with clinical sites, faculty, and leadership to enhance operational processes, manage contracts, and uphold accreditation standards—all while contributing to the strategic goals of one of the nation’s top nursing colleges.

The Manager of Compliance and Operational Excellence will report to the Executive Director of Operations and Strategic Initiatives within the University of Florida College of Nursing.  This role is responsible for managing clinical compliance, clinical placement, regulatory affairs, risk management, and college-wide contract management for services, equipment, vendors, etc. This position ensures effective regulatory oversight of academic programs while maintaining compliance with all clinical, regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards. The Manager will collaborate closely with faculty, clinical sites, staff, and leadership to streamline processes, mitigate risks, and maintain an efficient, safe, and compliant environment for students, faculty, and staff in clinical and operational settings. Additionally, this role will oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of contracts to optimize resource utilization and ensure alignment with the College of Nursing’s operational and strategic goals.

Clinical Compliance and Placement 

  • Oversee all aspects of clinical compliance, including monitoring, adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and clinical site standards.
  • Manage the placement of students in clinical settings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clinical partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clinical site agreements, onboarding processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Review and implement policies related to clinical placements to ensure consistency and alignment with college standards.

Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, and Policy Implementation 

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to academic programs, clinical education, and operational practices.
  • Lead the review, implementation, and adherence to institutional policies across all clinical, operational, and administrative activities.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to address potential issues in clinical and operational environments.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate risks and ensure policy execution.

Facilities Management 

  • Manage space allocation and ensure efficient utilization of college facilities, including classrooms, clinical labs, and administrative offices.
  • Oversee maintenance, safety, and security of physical spaces in alignment with institutional policies.
  • Collaborate with campus facilities teams to address infrastructure and operational needs.

Contract Management 

  • Negotiate, execute and manage contracts for services, equipment, vendors and other operational needs in alignment with University of Florida procurement policies.
  • Develop and maintain a centralized system for tracking contracts and ensuring timely renewals or modifications.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure service agreements meet institutional requirements and operational goals.

Staff Supervision and Leadership 

  • Supervisor and mentor operational staff, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment
  • Provide clear guidance, set performance expectations, and evaluate staff contributions to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Identify professional development opportunities to enhance staff competencies and improve operational effectiveness.

Evaluation & Reporting 

  • Collect, analyze, and report data on program participation, student outcomes, and community impact.
  • Contribute to grant writing, accreditation reporting, and strategic planning efforts.

Process Improvement and Stakeholder Collaboration 

  • Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and leadership to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives aimed at aligning operational practices with the college’s strategic goals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for innovation and optimization.
Expected Salary:

$78,000-$88,000

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
  • Juris Doctor or Executive Juris Doctor degree strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience working in a clinical environment
  • Experience and successful track record leading and supervising a team
  • Certification in regulatory affairs or risk management (e.g., CPHRM, CHC).
  • Experience in an academic healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
