Job Description:

The College of Medicine's Testing Center is seeking part-time OPS Test Proctors to play a pivotal role in our mission to ensure a seamless and secure testing experience for students. As a Test Proctor, your responsibilities will include administering exams, assigning students to testing rooms, and maintaining the security of exams. In addition, you will handle various support tasks, such as managing computerized schedules and records, as well as welcoming and guiding students, faculty, and visitors. More About This Role:

  • Provide test directions to groups of students (up to 130+).
  • Prepare and assemble testing room and testing material.
  • Recall and enforce policy and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all testing materials.
  • Maintain a quiet and secure testing environment.
  • Detect nuances of improper conduct or misuse of test materials.
  • Resolve problems involving examinees before, during and after testing.
  • Verify identity and eligibility of testing candidates.
  • Know applicable local, state, and federal procedures and regulations for all testing administered.
  • Work effectively in a busy environment and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with other Testing Center personnel.
  • Assist in all test-related issues as needed.
  • Rearrange and tidy up room after testing sessions.
  • Consistently demonstrate high quality customer service.
  • Fulfill duties in the Testing Center in the absence of other staff.
  • Complete all required training and certifications to administer exams.
  • Maintain communication with the Testing Center regarding test administration and facilities.
  • Work independently and responsibly in the absence of supervision.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Testing Center Coordinator.
Availability Needs:
  • The schedule for this position varies based on exam start and end times.
  • Exams are scheduled Monday through Friday, and occasionally 2-3 hours on Saturdays.
  • Most exams could fall within the hours of 7am – 5pm.
  • Dependable transportation is key.
  • 3-10 hours per week.
  • There is limited testing during the Summer.

Physical Demands:

  • Include light lifting and various movements (stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, push, pull, kneel, etc.), along with extended periods of talking and listening in a work environment that is typical of an office setting with no extreme conditions. 
Expected Salary:

$15 per hour

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Flexibility to work various office hours is key.
  • Dependable transportation is key.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

  • Demonstrated experience in proctoring or classroom settings.
  • Proven background in working with adult learners.
  • Previous experience in a helpdesk or tech support environment.
  • Proficiency in computer operations with a strong understanding of basic computer functions.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn new software applications.
