Job Description:
  • First contact for students and visitors which consists of redirecting visitors, advising on basic F-1 nonimmigrant processes, directing individuals to resources, answering basic inquires in-person, by email (including Salesforce emails), or phone regarding routine policies or procedures within established guidelines.
  • Reviews I-20 requests submitted by academic departments to send students preliminary I-20 application instructions. Process standard letter requests for students, such as for F-1 status verification, social security application, expense, CADIVI, military.
  • Coordinates new student check-in: manages, reviews, develops, updates, and trains on all matters related to the online check-in process, website information regarding check-in, and lobby materials provided to students.
  • The position serves as a back-up Designated School Official (DSO) for matters such as assisting in providing updated travel signature requests and I-20 reprints. Serves as a back-up to the Associate Director for managing the Linkage Institute process and some standard letter-writing processes, such as for invitation letters to family members for the purpose of tourist visa application for visit or attendance of graduation.
  • Provides routine office support such as taking detailed meeting minutes; shares in management of the advisors’ and directors’ calendars, scheduling meetings/appointments as needed; assists with work arrangements for ISS staff.
  • Serves as main notary for international students.
  • Routes incoming mail and courier deliveries, distributes documents to students/office visitors.
  • Serves as a back-up in managing the SIDA drop requests after the drop/add deadline, provided the drop will not cause the student to be under-enrolled.
  • Other duties as assigned
Expected Salary:

$19.00 - $21.00/hour

- Bachelor's degree
Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training (provided)

KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of and experience with F-1 immigration regulations
- Knowledge of and experience with UF rules, regulations, and processes
