Job Description: |
The ImagingNMD research team is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join our team in the Department of Physical Therapy, College of Public Health and Health Professions. This role is based in Dauer Hall and/or the Clinical Translational Research Building on the UF campus.
The incumbent will assist Research Coordinators and Faculty with the implementation of research activities for both industry and NIH sponsored clinical studies. The responsibilities include assistance with the collection of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and functional data, interaction with pediatric and adult patients enrolled in studies, data management and processing, maintaining files and data records, image analysis, organization of documents and ordering supplies and equipment.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor and prepare study data including management of clinical data such as MRI images, physical function testing and medical history information. Monitor and distribute data reports to internal and external recipients. This requires a detail oriented and organized individual, that is eager to learn and interested in the scientific process.
- Assist with the collection of magnetic resonance imaging and functional data in patients enrolled in clinical research studies. This includes entering data on case report forms or into a computerized data base, reviewing data for accuracy and completeness, interacting with patients and families in a professional manner, and escorting the patients/families between appointments as well as in the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) room.
- Prepare and maintain study binders/folders and assist with the coordination of subject visits. This includes communication with MRI facility staff, Clinical Research staff, and other key personnel. Prior to and following each study visit, documents will need to be prepared, reviewed, organized and filed accurately to maintain reliable records.
- Manual data analysis, including visual identification of designated anatomical regions on collected MRI images.
- Assist with meetings/conferences, ordering supplies, and distribution of documents to collaborators at other institutions. This includes the assembling of meeting/conference materials, creation of study binders, ordering materials, and other administrative and logistical tasks.
- Complete other tasks as needed.

Expected Salary: |
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications: |
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 1-2 years of experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute for the required experience.

Preferred: |
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with subjects and other study research team members.
