Job Description:

Student Engagement: In collaboration with the Sr. Director, develop and execute comprehensive student engagement strategies to enhance the sense of belonging and involvement within the Warrington MBA community.

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student organizations to create opportunities for networking, leadership development, and co-curricular activities both on and off campus.

Monitor student engagement levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing initiatives to address them.

Events: Develop a comprehensive event strategy aligned with the goals and objectives of the Warrington MBA program and the College of Business strategic plan. Following the original draft, the plan should be reviewed annually to ensure future activities continue to align with program goals and WCB plan.

Assess the effectiveness of the event strategy through data analysis, feedback collection, and evaluation metrics, and refine the strategy as needed to optimize outcomes and enhance student engagement.

Provide leadership and strategic direction to the assistant directors responsible for planning and executing signature events and campus engagement programs ensuring alignment with organizational goals, budgetary considerations, and industry best practices.

Oversee the development and implementation of innovative event concepts, themes, and formats that resonate with the Warrington MBA student community and contribute to a vibrant program culture.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, student organizations, alumni, and industry partners to enhance the quality of events and ensure meaningful impact on the student experience.

Staff Management and Development: Provide effective management and direction to the student experience team (currently 4), ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations.

Oversee day-to-day operations and workflow management, prioritizing tasks, and allocating resources to optimize productivity and efficiency.

Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork among staff members, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support professional growth and development, addressing any performance issues promptly and effectively.

Lead by example, demonstrating strong leadership skills, ethical conduct, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of staff management and administration.

Student Technology and Communication Resources: Provide strategic planning and oversight of student communication channels, ensuring alignment with evolving technological trends and best practices in student engagement.

Assist with creation and implementation of communication strategies leveraging technology to effectively reach and engage students, including new student onboarding processes and event promotion.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging experimentation with new communication methods and channels to enhance student engagement and satisfaction.

Office Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Warrington College of Business and across the university to align student experience initiatives with broader strategic objectives and priorities.

Serve as a liaison between student experience unit and other departments, facilitating communication, coordination, and collaboration to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Cultivate a culture of teamwork and innovation within the student experience unit, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Event Assistance: Provides support at prospective student, current student, and alumni events and engages with prospects, students, alumni, and other key stakeholders.

Additional Duties: Undertake other duties, projects, deliverables, or reports as assigned by the Senior Director of Student Affairs. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and innovation in student affairs and program development.

Required Qualifications:

Masters degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of relevant experience or a bachelor degree in appropriate areas of specialization and six years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

Ideal candidates will have strong written and verbal communication skills and be highly organized with strong event management skills. Candidate will know and perform the duties normally expected of an academic student affairs officer, i.e., advising, program management, and liaison for student and stakeholder communication and concern. He/she will possess strong interpersonal skills, be strategic, tech savvy, and communicate effectively.

A proven record of accomplishment of strategic planning, staff management, and program excellence.

Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.

Candidate will be expected to not only provide exemplary leadership to the MBA student experience unit but also serve as a positive force and collaborator within the broader  MBA team. Candidate will need to understand and navigate all aspects of an academic unit. The effective candidate will proactively seek alliances and partnerships across the Warrington portfolio to improve macro level strategic outcomes for the MBA Program. He/She will seek to find similar partnerships with colleagues throughout the Hough Graduate School of Business and Warrington College of Business.

He/She may be called upon to represent the university at professional association meetings or other events.
