Job Description: |
The Postdoctoral Researcher will play a key role in developing and applying cutting-edge AI methods to analyze large-scale clinical datasets, including electronic health records (EHR), unstructured clinical text and multi-omics data. The candidate is required to have a Ph.D. in biomedical informatics, computer science, information science, data science, (bio)-statistics, (applied) mathematics, or a related STEM field.
Prior working experience with EHR data, machine learning, NLP, bioinformatics, and large language models (LLM) is preferred. In particular, the Postdoctoral Researcher will lead and assist with data modeling, AI/ML methods, software package development, scientific paper writing, and grant proposal writing. This position will work under the guidance of Dr. Rui Yin, in collaboration with a team of data scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians and computer scientists to fulfill the research and service missions of the BMI program.

Ph.D. degree in biomedical informatics/bioinformatics, computer science, data science, electronic/biomedical engineering, mathematics or related majors

Preferred: |
• Strong passion and motivation for research with a desire to solve practical biomedical problems.
• Ph.D. degree in biomedical informatics/bioinformatics, computer science, data science, electronic/biomedical engineering, mathematics or related majors.
• Research experience and expertise in data mining, machine learning and LLM/NLP/PLM in biomedical domains.
• Domain knowledge in one of the diseases, including AD/ADRD, cancer, diabetes, liver disease and infectious diseases (e.g., autoimmune or other immune-related diseases).
• Demonstration of publications, teamwork and communication in English.
• Experience in grant writing (optional but advantageous).
