Job Description:

The Department of Economics at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-accruing position at the rank of Lecturer, beginning August 16, 2026. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics by the date of hire. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package.

The successful candidate should be able to contribute to the Department of Economics’ vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department currently offers an undergraduate major, undergraduate minor, residential and online M.A. programs, and Ph.D. program. The Department’s curricular offerings have shifted toward placing a stronger emphasis on econometric methods and data analysis in recent years. The successful candidate would be expected to teach undergraduate and masters courses in econometrics and data analysis. Other course assignments would align with the candidate’s own experience and areas of expertise. The successful candidate would also be expected to provide informal advising to undergraduate and masters students and contribute service to the Department, College, and University.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics by the date of hire.

Preferred

Ph.D. in Economics by the date of hire. 

Experience teaching masters-level and advanced undergraduate econometrics courses.
