Academic Advisor III

Master’s degree in education, counseling, or an academic field directly related to psychology plus two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or psychology and three years of relevant experience.

Advise students regarding academic core and/or departmental requirements, appropriate class selection, academic policies and procedures, and campus resources. Assists students with the identification of long-term goals and career plans. Works to position students to meet requirements for graduation while preparing them to achieve future career goals. 

Manage the day-to-day functions of the advising office; train student advisors; coordinate schedules and tasks for team members; work with Academic Advising (CLAS) on policies and procedures.

Process degree verification and audits as per UF and college deadlines.  Review dual major requests and other petitions.

Conduct orientation/Preview sessions for transfer students who are majoring in Psychology

Serve on the departmental Undergraduate Studies Committee. Maintains and updates content on the website regarding degree requirements, experiential opportunities, and advising-related information. 

Other duties as assigned.

$60,000 to $66,000

-PeopleSoft integrated system preferred.

-Ability to communicate effectively.

-Experience with Microsoft Offices is required.

-Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
