Biological Scientist IV

Doctoral degree in biology or a closely related field and eight years of relevant experience; or a masters degree in biology or a closely related field and eleven years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in biology or a closely related field and thirteen years of relevant experience.

• Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory as a laboratory manager, assuring that all of the technical and professional staff are in full compliance with regulations (IRB etc).
• Work with the Principal Investigator(s) on a daily basis to assure the quality and integrity of the data generated in the laboratory, and to assure that deadlines are met. Collaborate with PI in formulating experimental design, IRB protocols and new grant applications.
• Maintenance of meticulous metadata records for human organ donors in regulatory compliance.

• Acquiring tissue mapping data under standard operating protocols.
• Histology, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence microscopy.
• Development of protocols to map tissues.

  
• Works with outside collaborators at other institutions as part of a consortium of tissue mapping activities
• Uploading data to NIH centers
• Quality control and assurance

• Participate in preparation of reports
• Presentation at laboratory meetings
• Presents data and abstracts at local and national meetings.

$75,000 - $80,000 per year. Commensurate with education and experience.
