Job Description:

The UF Health Cancer Center is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span 15 of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure. 

As an Administrative Specialist II at the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), you will be responsible for a range of activities supporting general administrative needs for senior and executive leadership center wide while also facilitating IT infrastructure needs of the UFHCC. Success in this role requires strong organizational and communication skills, a proven commitment to customer service, and the ability to work effectively both independently and in collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders. 

In your new role you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Coordinate asset and software management processes for UFHCC technology resources, including IT equipment purchases, inventory tracking, warranty repairs, and software license oversight. 
  • Serve as primary IT liaison, providing troubleshooting, help desk support, and coordination with UF and UF Health IT partners to ensure timely resolution of technology and AV needs. 
  • Manage user access requests, telecommunications set-up, and technology onboarding/offboarding for faculty, staff, and students across the Center. 
  • Provide high-level administrative support to UFHCC leadership, including meeting planning, event logistics, communications, and maintenance of SOPs, policies, and resources. 
  • Oversee travel coordination, office support functions, and issue resolution, ensuring compliance with UF/UF Health regulations and smooth operations across the Center. 

This is a professional level position, ideal for candidates with a background in IT operations, administrative support, or business operations in a higher education, healthcare, or research environment.  A complete job description will be provided to candidates selected for interview. 

Expected Salary:

$58,000 - $65,000; annually

This is a TEAMS position, and is eligible for a suite of excellent benefits, retirement options, and paid leave. 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Valid FL driver's license.

Preferred:

Knowledge/Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS, Computer Science, Business, or related field. 
  • 4+ years’ experience in IT help desk support or coordinating IT operations, ideally in education, healthcare, or research settings. 
  • Experience with program, meeting, or conference planning, including vendor and site selection, contracting, and budgeting. 
  • Familiarity with database support and development. 
  • Knowledge of University of Florida systems, procurement policies, and vendor management (preferred but not required).

  • Resourcefulness in building and maintaining positive working relationships. 
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and responsiveness.

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Strong technical skills with computer systems, mobile devices, and software, with the ability to diagnose and resolve basic issues. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office automation/remote support tools. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders, vendors, donors, and diverse stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Skilled in strategic planning, decision-making, and problem-solving.
