Join the University of Florida’s School of Physician Assistant Studies as our Didactic Year Coordinator!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized professional to serve as the Didactic Year Coordinator (Academic Program Specialist I). In this role, you will support the first year of the Physician Assistant (PA) program, managing 12 didactic courses and ensuring the seamless delivery of educational content. Working closely with course directors, you’ll coordinate teaching activities, develop course materials, oversee Canvas course pages, and track institutional and course-level objectives.
From scheduling learning activities and assessments to assisting with exam development and accreditation reporting, you’ll play an important role in supporting PA students as they build their foundation in the health sciences.

More About This Role
Didactic Course Management
- Manages 12 complex Didactic Year courses in coordination with Course Directors from the PA School and the Departments of Physiology and Aging and Pharmacology, and provides support for the active learning components throughout the didactic phase of the curriculum.
- Coordinates multiple aspects of overlapping courses simultaneously including scheduling of general teaching and course activities.
- Ensures that all lectures and learning activities are added to the calendar/curriculum management system in coordination with the Didactic Assistant.
- Develops and maintains Canvas course pages including posting syllabi, schedules, lecture materials, assignments, and notifications
- Creates and edits student informational documents, course syllabi, and other course related documents in alignment with SPAS policies.
- Provides high level administrative support for course directors from the PA school and outside departments.
- Manages and tracks student assignments and completion of course requirements.
Answers questions in alignment with SPAS and accreditation processes for respective Course Directors.
Didactic Program Oversight
- Tracks and updates institutional and course level objectives on course syllabi.
- Assists course directors with exam blueprinting and annual review of previous questions for assigned courses.
- Organizes and creates an exam question database for assigned courses.
- Prepares quizzes, examinations, assessments, and ensures scores are available to students on Canvas per SPAS policy.
- Prepares reports and documents, summarizes and tracks action items for the Curriculum Committee and
- Professional Standards and Promotions Committee.
- Prepares data and reports to support accreditation.
- Prepares curriculum mapping and tagging for respective Course Directors.
- Identifies and documents problems and proposes solutions alternatives to enhance alignment with SPAS processes and accreditation standards.
Experiential Learning Coordination
- Schedules learning activities and performance-based assessments with the staff of the Center for
- Experiential Learning and Simulation.
- Coordinates small group and experiential activities.
Student Services
- Communicates effectively and follows-up with students in a timely manner.
- Maintains student records and files securely.
- Provides back-up coverage for Didactic Assistant.
- Advises and guides students in alignment with SPAS policies and procedures.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Other duties as assigned by PA School leadership.
- Collaborates with COM Event Manager and participates in PA events.

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google/G-Suite, and Windows Platform
- Ability to collect data and create reports
- Self-starter willing to learn new programs and systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with an eye for accuracy and quality
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects, complex tasks, and deadlines independently
- Experience with course management and familiarity with health sciences courses
- Knowledge of UF registration and grading systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time-management and problem-solving capabilities
- Communicates clearly and professionally with faculty, staff, and visitors – in person, via written communications, and on the telephone
