* Plan, develop, implement, and assess an integrated strategic communications plan to enhance the image and reputation of IRREC programs with industry and the region. Assists with translating institutional strategies into integrated communications and public relations objectives and tactics. Ensures plans are synergistic with the branding efforts of UF/IFAS and IRREC.
Manages various IRREC communications outreach channels, including social media, blogs, website content, and tracks digital communication and marketing efforts. Writes, edits, and posts content in various media and formats, with a focus on digital media. Topics include stories and announcements for IRREC and UF/IFAS blogs, educational/training materials, new research and more.
Provides document layout, formatting, and graphics support for print and digital media products, including newsletter layout and production, graphics (including photos and videos) for website and other media, communications in collaboration with UF/IFAS Communications. Provides promotional support for IRREC events and other IRREC communications products. Builds and manages image and graphics libraries for use in research, teaching, Extension and other marketing and communications activities.
Tracks, communicates, and evaluates progress of projects and metrics, providing regular status reports. Attends regular content coordination meetings with UF/IFAS Communications professionals to identify and develop an annual project calendar. Works with and serves as liaison to UF/IFAS Communications to ensure consistency for IRREC branding efforts coordinating with graphic design, photography, media relations, and social media staff and representing IRREC at UF/IFAS Communications meetings. Creates and edits branded templates for use by faculty, staff, and students. Provides guidance and training on social media and related topics, and on UF and UF/IFAS branding, educational media, and communications policies.
*Ensures social media and web communications are integrated with all other efforts across the organization’s communications portfolio. Collaborate with various subject matter experts to develop content and identify future stories.
Identifies key constituent groups both internally and externally and develops and implements innovative communication vehicles to reach them. Identifies and synthesizes IRREC research and impacts into narratives for dissemination to the news media, public, and administration. Monitors and evaluates the success of communications strategies, creates media reports, and recommends improvements for future endeavors.
Works with UF/IFAS Communications and IRREC staff to produce collateral materials to ensure brand consistency in message, tone, look, and feel.
Maintains the IRREC web page, calendar, personnel directory display, foyer events monitor, and inventory of marketing and communications equipment and materials.
* Gathers information and writes blogs, newsletters, and print content for dissemination to all media platforms. Identifies and integrates new and emerging media opportunities in support of UF/IFAS and IRREC goals in the assigned region.
* Assists with alumni outreach, communications, and tracking, and with student recruitment activities and communications in collaboration with the UF/IFAS College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the UF/IFAS Advancement.
