The Department of Economics at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor of International Economics, beginning August 16, 2026. The Department welcomes applicants from all subfields of international economics. It also welcomes applications from advanced Assistant Professors. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics by the date of hire. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package. Candidates with previous experience will receive the full tenure probationary period.
The successful candidate should be able to contribute to the Department of Economics’ vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs and conduct high-quality research that results in publications in the discipline’s leading general interest and top field journals. The successful candidate would contribute service to the Department, College, and University and shared faculty governance.
The Department of Economics is the academic home to 22 faculty. The Department currently offers an undergraduate major, undergraduate minor, residential and online M.A. programs, and Ph.D. program. The Department’s curricular offerings have shifted toward placing a stronger emphasis on econometric methods and data analysis in recent years. The University of Florida has a separate Food and Resource Economics Department, with which faculty may collaborate. The Department of Economics offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
