Job Description:
  • This position is responsible to ensure that policies and practices of the organization are followed in accordance with university policy and various federal and nonfederal sponsors policies concerning effort and commitment processing.  Manages the record keeping for the quality assurance review of the calculation of the commitment expectation of faculty and staff to be tracked and managed in the commitment system.  This position is responsible for supervising the responsibility of collecting data for sponsored contracts and grants in order to proceed with effort commitment processing in the myUFL system.  Oversees and leads the preparation of reports that are given to the Division of Sponsored Programs (DSP), Contracts and Grants, various campus departments, and Finance & Accounting leadership when requested.

 

  • Provides leadership for direct report(s), including effective performance management, identification of training needs and professional development plans.  Creates an innovative and continuous improvement focused environment by seeking out and encouraging ideas for process change.  Actively supports and contributes to the CFO Division mission. accuracy.  Recommending upgrades to processes and procedures for commitments and collaborate with IT staff on improvements of commitment data entry and collection.

 

  • Customer Service and Support - Advises faculty, staff and administration regarding university policies and procedures when meeting effort and commitment expectations. Customer support and assistance with effort and commitment, questions from all departments on and off campus.  Develop one on one training opportunities with new staff in departments to assist with questions related to the various policies.  Meetings with faculty, staff and administrators when requested to advise of remaining commitment expectations, sharing information about the federal circular to determine if the commitment adjustment request needs to be reported to DSP (Such as a leave of absence or overall commitment tolerance exceeds acceptable levels).  Leadership to campus transferring knowledge of the policies and procedures of the sponsoring agencies and university policies.

 

  • Assists with Effort Reporting questions and analysis as needed.
Expected Salary:

$61,000 - $70,000

Preferred:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently.
