This candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of established laboratory procedures and techniques under the supervision of other laboratory personnel.
Duties include:
Processing of cell and tissue samples for analysis via microscopic imaging platforms. This includes the employment of molecular grade sample handling, precision tissue slicing, immunohistochemistry staining, and next generation high-content and spatial imaging preparation.
Prepare and conduct standard methodologies for the extraction, identification, expression, purification, and isolation of proteins, nucleic acids, tissues, and other cell components. These techniques will include polymerase chain reaction (PCR and RT-PCR), ELISA, RIA, Flow Cytometry, Mononuclear cell enrichment, and modern IHC techniques.
Assist with experimental animal procedures as per IACUC protocols. Generate and maintain data to be presented to the principal investigator and other members of the laboratory.
Scientific instrument usage and maintenance of equipment such as: high-content imaging platforms, fluorescence and confocal microscopes, and other advanced biological measurement platforms.
Analysis, visualization, and reporting of generated data via regular updates to project manager and/or PI. This will include data visualization and methods descriptions preparation for reports.
Act as a laboratory waste and chemical inventory technician, assisting the laboratory manager with ensuring EH&S compliance for laboratory safety standards.
