Customer Service Rep

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience.

The University of Florida College of Dentistry is seeking applications for a Customer Service Rep in Dental Records and Patient Registration. This position requires cross-training to proficiently handle responsibilities in both dental records and patient registration. The representative must also be able to provide administrative and clinical support on the switchboard and the screening clinic.

Patient Services and Registration 

• Register approximately one-third of the College's patients.
• Prepare daily for patient appointments. Collect and accurately record all demographic information, obtain photo identification, insurance details and all necessary patient consent forms.
• Verify appointment details and direct patients efficiently to the correct areas.
• Log the use of facility equipment, specifically wheelchairs and sign stands.

Cashiering and Financial Transactions

• Start the shift by receiving and verifying the initial cash bag amount.
• Accept and process patient payments, including cash, checks, and charge cards.
• At the end of the shift, run a report of the day's transactions and reconcile the report against the cash drawer before securely delivering the drawer to the Business Office.

Record Management and Compliance

• Document inactive charts and manage their destruction by strictly following authorization guidelines from UF Records Management.

Operational Support

• Serve as a backup for the immediate supervisor during absences.
• Successfully complete various projects as assigned on a timely basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

$15.50 - $16.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience
