Job Description:

The Academic Assistant II will serve as the primary academic support for the Office of Life Long Learning’s Distance Education Support Services unit at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy.

General Office Support: Serves as the primary point of contact for the office which includes answering the office phone, replying to emails via Salesforce and Outlook, and communicating with DESS team. Maintains files and office records both physical and electronic, as well as assisting with data entry. Assists with scheduling activities, such as appointments and meetings. 

Admission Support:  Supports the DESS team with applications by reviewing application materials, communicating with applicants, and managing data related to applicants.

Enrollment Support:  Assists with registration for the online graduate programs in the College of Pharmacy. Duties include but are not limited to processing registration, reviewing holds, and communicating with students and program directors. 

Execute other duties as assigned to support DESS staff and the mission of the Office of LLL.

Expected Salary:

Up to $42,000 annually

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

• Previous admissions, academic advising, or similarly related higher education experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable speaking to large groups and interacting with students and other members of the community.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving skills, works proactively, and takes ownership of responsibilities and/or problems.
• Ability to work independently, manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Conveys a professional demeanor and positive attitude, practices excellent customer service, and works well in a team environment.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, administrative staff, and other campus departments.
• Experience with the various UF systems, such as Slate, Compass, SIS, GIMS, myUFL. Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
