Job Description:

UF College of Dentistry, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery is searching for a Clinical Service Representative III. The role of this position will be to check patients in and out of a very busy clinic, answer the telephone daily, compile monthly statistics reports for the clinic and supervise front desk and phone center clinical service representatives.

Duties include:

Make OMFS/CID appointments for patients and be knowledgeable of policies for accepting patients into the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinic. Along with answer the telephone daily, contacting new patients by phone regarding appointments as requested. Type and mail letters to all new patients, which include information about their appointment, payment procedures and map of area. Confirm clinical appointments.

Lead training of front desk and phone center clinical service representatives, both hands on and written material. Immediate supervisor of clinical service rep I and II positions in reception and phone center areas.

Gather, verify, and enter demographics and insurance information in AxiUm. Verify patient’s insurance information in Availity, MMA Medicaid plans, Florida Medicaid, and commercial plans if available via portal access. Ensure authorizations are in place prior to patient’s arrival; request, scan patient’s dental/medical documents into AxiUm.

Schedule all incoming (outside) referrals to include but not limited to UF Health facilities and COD clinics.

Identify and notify patients of any deductibles and/or any co-payments due prior to patient’s arrival to practice. Responsible for collecting any amounts due (copayment , deductibles, etc.) by sending patients to the COD cashier for payment prior to services rendered; coordinate appointments with various treating providers within COD and UF Health.

Arrange for interpreters by contacting Centers for Independent Living and/or using CryaCom phone system for patient visits.

Assists with other clinical office duties as needed.

Expected Salary:

$26.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience

Required Qualifications:
