FWS Communications Assistant

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Federal Work-Study.
• Must maintain a 2.5-grade point average.
• Able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Experience using or an interest in learning content management systems to update and maintain websites
• Knowledge of photo and graphics editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Canva
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Outlook and Excel
• Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook

$15/hour

• Demonstrated interest in the communications field and scientific research
• Experience with (or the desire to learn) website maintenance using a content management system (CMS)
• Basic graphic design experience
• Basic photography and photo editing experience
• Confident with verbal and written communication
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data accuracy and integrity
• Possess effective organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, ability to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines
