Job Description:

Information Technology Operations (ITO) is a unit within the Warrington College of Business Information Technology Support Programs (ITSP) Department that provides administrative support to the college.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Student Assistant to be part of our ITO team and provide support to the college by assisting with software, subscriptions, and data purchases; completing annual inventory scans; and handling various routine fiscal and administrative tasks essential to the department.

This is a customer service and detail-oriented position. The ITO Office Student Assistant is expected to have strong communication skills, be a self-starter, work well both on a team and independently, follow up on assignments, and provide updates as needed.

This position is open to all eligible students who are authorized to work on campus. However, a commitment to work for at least two consecutive terms before graduation is required.

Responsabilities

  • Software, subscriptions, and data: purchases for the college according to ITO’s procedures, including contacting vendors for required information, reviewing and updating documentation, and updating the user through the process.
  • Inventory handling of IT equipment: information updates, scanning assets to meet annual deadlines per directives and procedures established by UF and ITO.
  • Furniture surveys.
  • Administrative routine tasks.
  • Other projects and tasks, as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Mental Factor – Maintain a level head in a stressful environment.
  • Physical Factors – Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, ability to move/lift 50 lbs, ability to kneel.
  • Communication - Ability to compose professional emails; ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, suppliers, and user support.
  • Confidential data - Understand and follow FERPA.

Hours:

This is a part-time job: 10 to 20 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and will be agreed upon within office hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm) and will vary depending on school schedules, projects, and deadlines.

This is a full-year position, meaning that the ITO Office Student Assistant is expected to work during the Summer.

Expected Salary:

$15.00/hr

Required Qualifications:
  • Customer service experience.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; must demonstrate the ability to communicate in a respectful, helpful, and friendly tone.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to work for a minimum of two terms before graduation and during the Summer.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to follow procedures.
Preferred:
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure timely completion of work.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
  • Prior experience in an office setting.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
