Job Description
The University of Florida Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM) is seeking a Family Medicine physician (MD/DO) to join the UF Health Family Medicine Urgent Care – Eastside Clinic in Gainesville. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The selected candidate will provide direct patient care in an urgent care setting while contributing to the department’s educational mission. Teaching responsibilities include working with University of Florida College of Medicine medical students and Family Medicine residents during clinical rotations, when applicable. Faculty are expected to participate in educational conferences, seminars, and lectures as part of the department’s academic activities.
Clinical Responsibilities
The physician will provide comprehensive urgent care services at UF Health Family Medicine Urgent Care – Eastside Clinic, serving patients across the lifespan. The clinic supports a collaborative, team-based care model that includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, a registered nurse health coach, and a pharmacist.
Key responsibilities include:

Delivering high-quality patient care in the urgent care clinic

Participating in clinic and/or inpatient call rotations, depending on departmental needs and candidate interest

Collaborating with and supervising Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) as part of a team-based care model

Contributing to departmental service and other faculty responsibilities as assigned
Educational Responsibilities
Faculty are expected to contribute to the educational mission of the department by:

Teaching medical students and Family Medicine residents during patient care activities

Participating in inpatient teaching rounds when applicable

Engaging in departmental educational conferences, seminars, and lectures
